I reached my target location and even after several minutes passed, the alert popup did not appear. What happened?

First make sure your GeoString configuration settings (start/end time, start date, etc.) are not preventing your GeoString from going into alert.

If your settings seem ok, you may be having issues with your GPS positioning accuracy.

One possible reason could be that Google Location Services are enabled which may sometimes result in inaccurate positional readings.

Open up the 'Location Services' app, then under the 'Preferences' menu, tap 'Locate Me Using' and then uncheck 'Use Google Services'. Make sure 'GPS' is checked.

If you still have the same issue after making this change and your position does not seem accurate in the 'Google Maps' app, go to the GeoStrings help screen and tap on 'GPS Fix'. Once the new card pops up, tap 'Get Fix' which will attempt to gain a more accurate GPS fix. Once it retrieves the fix, you can close this card. Try opening up Google Maps and see if your location is accurate. If it still is not accurate, try rebooting your phone.


Do I have to keep the GeoStrings app running (either full screen or as a minimized card) to keep monitoring my active tasks?

No. GeoStrings will run in the background and continue to monitor your active tasks even when the app is closed.


What if I reboot my phone? Will GeoStrings continue to monitor my active tasks after the reboot?

Yes. After the phone reboots, GeoStrings will resume monitoring your active tasks.
